The 2019 Riesling Lagenwein trocken is brilliant and shows yellow-green in the glass with white-golden reflections.
Green apple and crisp apricot in the first nose. Promisingly pithy with some air. White tea, wet lime.
In the mouth slim and dry with intense acidity. The alcohol goes down in the melt, only delicately pressing out behind, is well integrated.
Yellow fruits on the cerebral cortex. Exoticism, apple scoop. The reddish porphyry with all its crystalline inclusions sets the stage on the tongue.
Grapefruit is the protagonist, wading through tart herbs in the finish to climb down the stone wall on the taut acid framework. This is brave, this has tension, challenges the connoisseur.
With this impressive combination of pressure and elegance, the dry Lagenwein from the Siefersheim Heerkretz is typical. Not too serious. But good!
