Bioland-Weingut Friedhelm Rinklin

Weingut Rinklin stands for pioneer work. They are true experts in making organic products since 1955. They were part of the foundation of the famous german "Bioland"-Label in 1971.

In the present the winery is operated by a new generation. In 1991 Friedhelm Rinklin started to expand the wineries vineyards to produce organic wines with character. Focused on presenting the variety and terroir perfectly.
The "Rinklin vines" are grown in the the warm southwest of Germany on an extinct volcano (the Kaiserstuhl). The terroir is characterised by a deep layer of loam soil. Especially in the dry months of Juli and August this layer is still able to provide the vines with water and nutrients with no need of irrigation for the plants.
The geographical situation and the weather conditions at the Kaiserstuhl region suits perfect for the Pinot varieties. That´s why the winery´s varieties are focused on Pinot gris (Grauer Burgunder), Pinot noir (Spätburgunder) and Pinot blanc(Weisser Burgunder). The sortiment is completed by Müller-Thurgau, Muskateller, Riesling and some robust variety specialities like Johanniter and Regent.

The winemaker´s main goal is to keep all the potential that the grapes offer, until bottling. The best way to achieve this is to do minimal interventions. Because grapes becoming wine (fermentation) is a natural process says winemaker Friedhelm.

With every bottle of Rinklin wine you can support sustainable, organic winemaking and respectful farming.
