With hard work and enthusiasm laid the foundation of what is now the excellent Michele Castellani winery means for Sergio and his sons renewing this dream every day with passion for their work and ongoing product and process innovation.

The small “workshop”

Set up in Valgatara in 1945 by its founder Michele has indeed transformed itself, thanks to the substantial investments in the vineyards and in equipment made by his far-sighted successors, into a state-of-the-art winery that makes the most of the excellent raw material provided by the about 40 hectars of directly owned or grown vineyards.

The company of today, the same family, a national and international success

Sergio Castellani, with his wife Maria, continues today the wine business and manages the family-run company through all the wine making stages, together with his children Michele, in the winery, Martina, administrative dept and Mara, International Sales Manager. The success in Italy and abroad confirm the validity of the corporate project.

Our wines: a guarantee of quality and taste

We aim for excellence therefore we pay great attention to the selection and harvest of grapes, vinification, drying, and ageing of the great Valpolicella wines. The utmost care is given to the drying of grapes for the production of Amarone and Recioto, a process that is carried out in large and modern plants to preserve the grapes wholesomeness and a good control of their well-balanced and regular ripeness.

What we produce: wines at the best of their organoleptic potential

The vinification of fresh and dry grapes and wine production are carried out by integrating modern technologies with the most traditional ones, in a perfect combination between tradition and innovation, visually represented by large oak barrels next to small barriques, and well expressed by a range of product closely linked to their territory, but offered in an interesting and modern interpretation.
Therefore the real protagonists remain the different company wines which are all characterized by a clear style and a strong personality, that bear witness to a corporate philosophy aimed at enhancing the richness of the territory and fully meeting the sensory requirements of its consumers.
