Fattoria di Piazzano

The PIAZZANO farm is much more than a simple company, it represents the extraordinary passion for the world of wine of an entire family, the BETTARINI family. In 1948, Otello Bettarini, a well-known industrialist from Prato with a ball for astronomy, fell in love with these places to such an extent that he decided to move there permanently.

In this village, among these hills surrounded by greenery south of Empoli, he found the right astral conjunction to undertake what would become the main activity of this family, VITICULTURE. He directed all his energies in an attempt to make this land known and valued, in promoting its excellence.

Now arrived at the third generation, the management of the farm is still entirely entrusted to the family, Rolando, Ilaria and Michela continue with attachment and tenacity the work that has been handed down to him, also making use of the collaboration of valid technicians in the sector because their intent is to always guaranteeing the quality of the product by enhancing the potential of the area in the respect of a strongly desired eco-sustainability that keeps this land as healthy as possible, but with a keen eye on new technologies and market needs.

The heart of the farm is this small group of houses on the top of the surrounded hill
from vineyards and olive groves for a total of 60 hectares of which 33 are cultivated with vineyards. This is where the Bettarini family lives and works.
