Here is the story of the Kilburg family. 
 
Kilburg – Delicious wine a historical background 
 
From Germanys most famous wine region (Mosel), the Kilburg family name dated back till 1465, when Johann von Kilburg the ancestor of the Kilburg family viticultured his first vineyards. 
At this time the name “von” says that the Kilburg were a noble family, with a lot of property. The Kilburgs are winemakers in the 19th!! generation, more than 550 years of history. 
The Kilburg family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Germany. More tradition is impossible! Indeed, nothing essential has changed throughout the past 550 years: we’re striving for high quality, the way it used to be. 
 
In 1972 the 18th generation: Rudolf Kilburg took over the winery. At this time the winery had a size of 2 hectares.  In the meantime we are viticulturing 15 hectares.
The whole family is involved in winemaking. Sabine, Stefan and Max learned winemaking all over the world (France, California, S.Africa, A
