PREVER

WHO WE ARE - GUARDIANS OF ANCIENT VINEYARDS
We safeguard the history and tradition of local viticulture in a modern and sustainable way.

A LONG-CENTURY WINE HISTORY
The hills of the Sacra di San Michele were cultivated with vineyards by the ancient Romans. In the Middle Ages it was the cradle of the famous Nebbiolo grape: the flag of Piedmont in the world.
Founded in 1949, Prever began as a multifunctional company that produces honey, fruit, cheese and wine. Only since the early 2000s, production has focused on wine.
Prever’s new winery, completed in 2011, allows to combine modern oenological methods and traditional winemaking.
The turning point came in 2015 with a trip to France with "Rencontres des cépages modestes" and its manifesto on the uniqueness of minor grape varieties. Since then Prever focuses on the intent to save this unrepeatable heritage of humanity from extinction, preserving the ancient vines from the outside, as in a new Noah's ark.

RARE AND UNAVAILABLE WINES
The vineyards, less than 2 hectares, produce very small quantity because they are made up of almost centenary vine plants and sometimes varieties so uncommon to be unknown, dating back to the typical grapes of the area, but worthy of an ampelographic museum.
Vineyard processing is done with the utmost respect for the environment: low yield per plant, controlled grassing and biological treatments. The winery is energy self-sufficient, excludes fossil fuels and it is powered by solar energy. Prever vinifies only natural wines, it does not use herbicides and it is Vegan Friendly.
