1. Centuries-old Wine Culture and Winery Looking back to 1627, there is a winery named Weingut Reverchon silently located in the attractive Saar wine region in Germany. Successive owners and their Team contribute themselves to the land and the winery. Due to the effortful works of several generation, the wine cultrure of Weingut Reverchon sustains until today so that it has become one of the oldest traditional fine wineries in the Saar wine region. 2. Philosophy of Weingut Reverchon NATURE is our precious treasure. We do our best to preserve the cultural landscape of the steep sites. It demands responsible and sustainable cultivation of the vines, which means not only pruning carefully, but also working completely without insecticides, pesticides or herbicides. We adopt nature yeast instead of chemical staffs to do spontaneous fermentation in our cellar. We try our best to keep and show our friends the nature characters of the grapes. Just like our Cellarmeister, Ralph Herke said, as nature as possible! 3. Vineyards and Wine We now have in total 20 hectares. 80% of our vineyards are steep slopes with slate earth, sitting around the villages of Ockfen, Filzen and konz. Among them, the vineyard Herrenberg in Filzen is our monopoly vineyard, located directly behind the Vinothek and garten of the winery. We also share a part of Bockstein at Ockfen, which is one of the most famous vineyards in the world. We plant 60% Riesling, 10% Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder), 5% Pinot Noir 8Spätburgunder) as well as Chardonnay. For the wine styles, our wines change from dry to sweet, from still wine to sparkling wine, from fruity to minerality. 4. Monument Thanks to the preservation of successive owners of Weingut Reverchon, we could keep the oldest building of Saar region in our winery with the spacious park. In 2007, the current owner, Hans Maret, renovates the building that has been included in the Monument list in Germany. Now we have 6 cosy and comfortable rooms for our gasts. Here you could enjoy the wine as well as the history in the beautiful park. We are glad to welcome you to our winery and expect to share a nice wine time with you together.
