About the wine estate

El Holgazán

On a special plot in Tubilla del Lago called “El holgazán” (The layabout), at 850 metre altitude is a plantation of 25 year old vines on clayey stony soils.
The grapes are manual harvested into boxes.
Intensely aromatic with aromas of red and black fruit, liquorice hints typical of the tempranillo variety, integrated with notes of vanilla and toffee caramel.
Medium bodied with sweet tannins. Long and persistent with an agreeable finish of black fruit.
A typical offering from the Ribera del Duero, with a unique personality.
This wine consists of 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) grapes. It has had 8 days of maceration and aged for 7 months in French oak barrels.
