Bruma d’Autunno is a wine obtained by carefully working with Barbera grapes from an ancient vineyard planted in 1926 and named after my son Riccardo. The vines inhabiting it for almost a century are like ladies of humble origins which, like in fables, give birth to a wine of great elegance and unexpected nobility.
Every new vintage, we wait the summer to slow down, giving space to te first cold days, slowing the maturation as well. At this time there’s still space for a warm sun during the day, letting the grapes push the maturation a little more further. Tasting this wine the concept of time is not linear anymore, the further we go back with the vintages the more we have the feeling of tasting fresher and younger wines. For Barbera lovers it’s a unique experience, reminding a walk in the woods beside the vineyards in autumn, with wet leaves, bark, moss and mushrooms scents, accompanied with red fruits and a light smoked, balsamic flavor.
