Bordeaux Clairet is a speciality from Bordeaux. It has its own appellation. The wine must be made from red grapes. The wine style is in between a strong rosé and a light red. At Château Gourran we produce the Clairet from parcels with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. We harvest early in order to keep some acidity. Maceration takes around 12 hours until we have the correct colour. The fermentation is controlled at low temparture in order to conserve the fruitiness in the taste. Serve chilled to 8 degrees celcius. We recommend the wine served with smoked salmon or spicy food.
