Vintage: 2019 had a humid spring, which made up for last year's water deficit. June, however, was unusually hot and the strong sun rays brought nationwide sunburn. This had minimized the yields. 

Vines: 100 % Riesling

Region: Nierstein Hipping, red sand stone, 35% South east slope. 

Vines: 36 year old vines

Viticulture: early harvesting by hand, soft mash and subsequent mash life of 24 hours, spontaneous fermentation and solid yeast storage in stainless steel tanks until August

Description: Delicate red berry fruit, with a crunchy salty minerality. On the tongue its elegant way feels a little cool, in the finish the spices remains on the palate.

Drink maturity: After bottling in August 2020, these wines from our red slope need a bottle maturity of 12 months to open up. Development potential by 2030

Menu suggestion: Beautiful combination with seafood or ginger pumpkin cream soup
