Pinot Blanc Single Vineyard (dry)
Our Pinot Blanc vineyard in the Siefersheimer Heerkretz is full of beautiful grapes with clear minerality and great fruit every fall. For aging as a single-vineyard wine in barrique, we have additionally selected them by hand. Thus, in 2020, for the first time after 9 months of maturation, a site-typical Pinot Blanc was created, elegant and fruity, but with melt and wood aromas. The first nose reveals barrique as well as fruit in equal measure. Caramel and some vanilla mingle subtly with the more incisive pear and white peach flavors. In the mouth, lively acidity and smoothness engage in a head-to-head race that continues into the long finish. In between, there is always fruit and a crackle that creates tension. Only after many seconds does it dissolve into a comforting, rich mouthfeel that, together with smoky notes, lingers in the mouth for a long time, accentuating the porphyry minerality to the end. Fine and expressive. Powerful, but not too bulky.
