The 2018 Pinot Gris already stands out by its copper shine, which is easily recognisable in the glass. But not only the optics are special: Citrus notes and a hint of pear and pineapple characterise the nose. Strong in taste surprises this wine with a velvet texture and a significantly milder acidity than the scent suggests.
Nevertheless: No wine for gentle characters, as the 14.5% alcohol are quite dominant before they make room for classic Burgundy notes on the palate and in the finish. All in all a dense, tremendously powerful wine that won’t sink even with aromatic dishes. Single-handedly it releases new impressions and traces of exotic flavours with every sip.
