The Forgiardita winery cultivates its own grapes and produces its own wine in the Chianti region, north of Siena, near the town of Vagliagli in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Tuscany. The winery was refounded in 2014, starting again from an old family winery, where since 1950 grapes were grown and given to the Consorzio del Chianti Classico. The passion for the vineyard and winemaking according to a natural approach are the cornerstone, together with the limited production that we consider synonymous of a sustainable agriculture of quality and exclusivity for lovers of Forgiardita wines. For those reasons the winery is a member of the Federation of Independent Winegrowers. Forgiardita is evocative of natural wine with limited production. Merlot is the main vine of Forgiardita, whose ambition is to give it fame in the Chianti region, where it is rare to find it in purity. Grapes vinified with low sulphitation with residues in the bottle lower than 30mg/litre total SO2 (parameter required by the French Vin methode Nature specification). Ours is a natural wine that is not filtered and remains to refine in oak barrels for 24/35 months. The philosophy is total sustainability and authenticity from the vineyard to the bottle, through totally natural winemaking. Each bottle is sealed by hand, the maximum expression of craftsmanship. Production is limited to a few bottles each year (20 hectoliters), to be consistent with the slowfood and sustainability principles. The winery is a Fivi member and has participated in fairs and exhibitions: Pure Sangiovese Piacenza Wine Market Chalices of Stars VininSala The winery is known on the web, with a good following of enthusiasts. The wine was imported into the UK and sold to private individuals in Europe. Nicola Bielli, Forgiardita's winemaker
