Cantina Terribile was born in July 2014 in the wonderful Salento, Puglia, Italy. It is a small company, in Manduria (Ta), of about two and a half hectares. It produces only PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA, it is characterized by bush vines in italian "ALBERELLO", that are about 20 years old. The soil is made up of red soil, carparo (Lecce's stone) and rock that contribute to obtain a strong character wine. The excellent sun exposure, the cooling breeze from Ionian Sea and Mediterranean climate give minerality and right acidity typical of the PRIMITIVO "TERRIBILE". The harvest is made around mid-August, mostly from female labor. It is manual and in boxes. The yield is rather low, about one kg per plant precisely to favor the quality of the grapes itself. The winemaking takes place through a soft destemming of the grapes followed by a fermentation on the skins at a controlled temperature.
