My Messengers from Etna – Storytellers of a dramatic Volcanic past and present
Aglaea, the youngest of the three Graces of greek god Zeus - goddess of beauty, splendor, glory, magnificence and adornment. Significant with all my sentiments for Etna and what my wines try to express, and how they do so. 

A winery made from passion and driven out of passion. Myself, and two part-time employees caretake 4 hectares - Manual work, organic practices and attention to detail is how we work.
My six wines – my six messengers, have each their own personality and each propose a beautiful expression of the mineral lava soil of Etna. I strive to understand and hence work each little parcel of land according to its needs allowing for it to express the terroir’s uniqueness. As Aglaea herself, the wines portray discreet elegance, harmony and perfect balance.  

A Unique terroir
On the north-facing  slope of Etna, at 800 - 1.000  m. above sea level: 
•	black lava soil – rich in minerals, and silicate
•	60-100 year old alberello trained Nerello Mascalese vines
•	hand-harvested grapes in mid-october
•	4 ha divided on 6 excellent parcels all grown organically
•	6 wine personalities:  4 Reds, 1 White & 1 Rosato

ETNA  bietet die Gelegenheit, eine Jahrhunderte alte Geschichte zu erzählen, ein Ausdruck der Individualität – eine Nachricht, die von meine Weinen jeweils auf eine ganz eigene Art übertragen wird.

Einem absolut einzigartigen Terroir – direkte Auswirkung der zahlreichen Ausbrüche des Ätnas, die seit mehr als einer halben Million von Jahren aufeinander folgen, nämlich seitdem der Vulkan aktiv wurde. Die Lavaströme erstarrten, Schicht um Schicht, bedeckt von Asche, die sich darauf ansammelte. Das Resultat ist heute ein sehr poröser Boden, reich an Mineralien und extrem fruchtbar.

Am Nordhang des Ätna, auf 800 - 1.000 m. über dem Meeresspiegel: 
- schwarzer Lavaboden - reich an Mineralien und Silikat
- 60-100 Jahre alte, mit Alberello erzogene Nerello Mascalese-Reben
- Handlese der Trauben Mitte Oktober
- 4 ha aufgeteilt auf 6 hervorragende Parzellen, alle biologisch bewirtschaftet
- 6 Wein-Persönlichkeiten:  4 Rotweine, 1 Weißwein & 1 Rosato
Eine elegante Seele in jeder einzelnen Flasche.

Aglaea rappresenta tutti i miei sentimenti per l’Etna, tutto ciò che i miei vini cercano di esprimere e il modo in cui lo fanno. In questo senso i miei vini - i vini della Tenuta di Aglaea – fungono da miei messaggeri dall’Etna.
I vigneti sono composti da un terroir assolutamente unico – diretta conseguenza delle numerose eruzioni dell’Etna. I fiumi di lava si sono solidificati, strato su strato, ricoperti poi dalle ceneri sopra accumulate. Il risultato oggi è un terreno molto poroso, ricco di minerali ed estremamente fertile.

Sul versante nord dell'Etna, a 800 - 1.000 m. sul livello del mare: 
- terreno nero lavico - ricco di minerali e silicati
- viti di 60-100 anni ad alberello - uvaggio Nerello Mascalese
- uve raccolte a mano a metà ottobre
- 4 ha divisi su 6 ottime parcelle tutte coltivate biologico
- 6 carattere di vino:  4 rossi, 1 bianco e 1 rosato
