Cantina del Barone

Cantina del Barone was born in Cesinali, a small agricultural centre in the province of Avellino, where, for over a century, the Sarno family has been dedicated to the care of their land. In the mid-nineties Antonio Sarno bought the company which was owned by a baron residing in Naples, continuing as owner the hard work of symbiosis with the land and the exceptional microclimate of these places. Here, from volcanic soils rich in minerals and with an adequate skeleton content, with a southern exposure that gives the land perfect sunshine, in combination with the influence of Monte Terminio and Monte Partenio, Fiano finds its ideal habitat. Cantina del Barone is one of the founders of a small association and business network called V.i.T.I. (Vignaioli in Terre d'Irpinia - Vigneron in Irpinian Land) which includes in addition to Cantina del Barone also Cantine dell’Angelo in Tufo and Il Cancelliere in Montemarano. The companies share the production philosophy, the craftsmanship of the processes, the non-use of chemical substances neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar, the family management and not least the fact of being all three single-vine companies that together represent the three DOCG Irpinia.
