This is the most important and best product of the company. It is dedicated to Don Pepè, the owner's father and the one that started the company.
It is a blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera di Lecce (85% + 15%), that spends 18 months in new American oak, with the goal of creating a wine that can last in time.
The colour is a ruby red, with nuances of bricky. The grapes garantee a complex bouquet, enriched by the aging. We can find the varietal ripe red fruits, like prunes, blackberries, maraschino, dried fruits, leather and tobacco. The oak gives balsamic notes and fine smells of cocoa, pepper, coffee, licorice, vanilla and much more. The taste is full-bodied, rightly tannic and acid, balanced and with enveloping alcohol.
It's best drunk with grilled red meat, but also with aged cheeseand cured meat.
Best served at 18°C.
